We are currently looking for a Junior to Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our Vancouver office. This position will work within our growing group of groundwater professionals working across Northern and Western Canada.


Responsibilities




o As a Junior to Intermediate Hydrogeologist, you will collect and analyze field data, communicate and coordinate with contractors, prepare reports, writing proposals and building high quality service based relationships with clients.


o Assisting in managing work schedules, controlling budgets working within a multi-disciplinary team.



Qualifications:


o Minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience in the areas of groundwater resources and contaminant hydrogeology


o Environmental consulting experience in groundwater resources and contaminated site assessment


o Experience on mining projects would be an asset


o A minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering or geosciences, a Master's degree is preferred


o Ability to meet the "member in training" requirements or a member with the Engineers and Geoscientists BC (P.Eng., P.Geo.)


o Familiarity with provincial regulations, combined with a willingness and aptitude for project management and business development.


o Strong work experience on field-based investigations in physical hydrogeology, contaminated site assessment and remediation, groundwater supply and hydrogeological assessments


o Some mechanical aptitude would be an asset for trouble-shooting and problem solving equipment in the field.


o Demonstrated competency in soil and rock sampling and geotechnical soil and core logging, drilling, test pitting, monitoring well installations, monitoring well investigations, water level and, water quality sampling and hydraulic response tests (e.g. slug pumping and packer testing).


o Computer Skills: Groundwater analysis and modeling software e.g., AquiferTest, Seep/W, and MODFLOW


o Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).


o Travel will be required in this position, and candidates must be prepared to undertake field assignments, generally throughout western Canada, but also abroad.
