The Wireless Operations team within the Mobile Broadband Network Deployment (MBND) delivers operational excellence and an exceptional wireless experience to customers across the province of BC. Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together
As Manager, Wireless Operations, you'll provide leadership and support to a team of 12 to 15 Wireless Network Technicians located in communities in the Lower Mainland as well as across the province of BC to deliver the highest standard of wireless service reliability. You will support network build activities in addition to operations and maintenance for the Radio Access Network with our Customers First focus. We believe in taking the learnings and insights from our team and collaborate with other stakeholder teams to mitigate any incident from re-occurring including driving best practices so our customer stay connected and have the best wireless service experiences.
Here's how
* Providing leadership and support to Network Technicians, including:
o Enhancing a sense of close connection regardless of geography
o Facilitating their ongoing learning and development in emerging wireless network technology and best practices
o Ongoing informal and formal coaching and regular face to face meeting in the communities they serve
* Acting as the regional community ambassador and point of contact for TELUS wireless service and network issues
* Supporting, interpreting and applying the Collective Agreement including all disciplinary activities, grievance reviews and support of the arbitration process
* Cultivating strong collaborative partnerships with other leaders, including those supporting Service Technicians, upstream and downstream partners, and external partners to optimize resource deployment for our customers
* Managing network operational expense budgets including creating, forecasting, monitoring and developing cost saving measures
* Supporting the development of national cell site construction and maintenance standards, and safety programs

* Sought out for you knowledge of construction standards, contract management and project management
* Class 5 Driver's license and the ability to travel across BC including rural regions supported by your team
* Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Business Administration
* Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
* 3 or more years of experience leading a team of 10 or more individuals in a unionized environment
