**_Purpose of the Job_**


The _Senior Associate_ 's primary purpose is to work closely with an Advisor in the management of the Advisor's book of business by providing effective client service, contributing to business development and other sales related activities.


**_Accountabilities_**


**Generates Sales or Revenue by** :


+ Utilizing in-depth knowledge of products and services to gain maximum value from existing clients.

+ Identifying opportunities to gather additional assets to increase revenue within the existing client base and present to the Advisor (i.e. referrals, consolidation of assets, insurance, etc...).

+ Managing the execution of New Issue recommendations and other transactions on behalf of the Advisor.

+ Assisting the Advisor in the development, preparation, and presentation of annual business plan.


**Ensures a High Level of Client Service by:**


+ Preparing, analyzing, and presenting to the Advisor documents related to client accounts, including but not limited to: reports & recommendations, financial plans & concepts, insurance documents, and annual trading summaries.

+ Adhering to all firm and regulatory policies by staying apprised of all regulatory rules and trading activities related to client accounts, including the accurate documentation of all client interactions.

+ Providing recommendations for improvement to business processes offering additional value to clients, and effectively leveraging the business' Team of Experts.


**Ensure Effective Client Administration by:**


+ Following up with clients on missing documentation required, as per regulatory requirements.

+ Maintaining client files and information on the appropriate systems.

+ Checking daily trades and all system entries in accounts for timelines & accuracy of information.

+ Responding to client inquiries in a timely, responsive manner by resolving issues, completing client transactions promptly and accurately, and escalating concerns to the Advisor when appropriate.

+ Issue instructions for client withdrawals, deposits, swaps, and transfers according to client or Advisor.

+ Reviewing processes to improve administrative efficiencies.

+ Entering client trades.


**Maintains Regulatory Oversight by:**


+ Ensuring the suitability of client recommendations and ensuring that they align with client's financial goals, objectives and risk tolerance.

+ Ensuring non-solicited trades meet the client risk tolerance.

+ Understanding client profiles and the Advisor's investment strategy for helping the client achieve his/her goals.


**Contribute to the effective functioning of the Branch Team by:**


+ Building effective working relationships across the team, with various business lines and business partners across the bank.

+ Maintaining a high level of customer service and facilitating a culture of openness & honesty.

+ Actively participating and contributing to team meetings and other touch-points with team members.

+ Encouraging the development of new ideas and approaches.

+ Actively sharing knowledge and experience in order to enhance the development of all team members.

+ Developing and executing meaningful employee development plans.

+ Acting as a mentor to junior colleagues and taking a leadership role within the branch.

+ Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

+ Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

+ Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

+ Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

**_Dimensions:_**


+ The Senior Associate acts independently on the accountabilities of their particular role as agreed upon with the Advisor (i.e. segment of the book of business, generating desired target revenue, etc....).

+ The Senior Associate will review and/or escalate to an Advisor any client issues that may put the firm, the Advisor, or the bank at risk.

+ The business is North-American based and the position is located in (city & province names), supporting (#of Advisors) advisor(s).

+ The Senior Associate will work regularly with Microsoft Office Suite of Products, Charles River (trading platform), Salesforce (CRM) and other software, applications & resources to support the business.


+ Licensing with IIROC as a Registered Representative is a requirement of the role.


**_Education / Experience / Other Information:_**


+ 2 years of industry experience.

+ Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

+ Strong organizational skills.

+ Takes initiative and effectively works independently.

+ Strong ability to maintain deadlines.

+ Understands industry and firm's compliance regulations & requirements.

+ In-depth industry knowledge.

+ Knowledge of back-office procedures.

+ Canadian Securities Course Completion (CSC)

+ Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH)

+ Wealth Management Essentials (WME) prior to enrolling in Registered Representative Training.

+ Registered Representative Training (RRT).

+ Relevant licensing as required by the Advisor's business.

+ Completion of the Senior Associate (RR Only Licensing) Training Program and acquiring licensing as a Registered Representative (RR).

+ Post-Secondary Education.


**_Working Conditions:_**


+ Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.

+ Seminars and client prospecting events are often held in the evening hours which may make for a longer working day.

+ The branch environment is fast-paced, can be high-stress with conflicting demands.
